It’s been a year – Am I right?
But, despite the disruptions, the world still turns and holidays roll around.
For our US-based friends and colleagues, Thanksgiving is set to be a little more muted this year. With large gatherings discouraged, and several months of lockdown dampening the spirit of festivity and togetherness; Thanksgiving 2020 is looking different to any other in recent memory.
Despite this, the core message of Thanksgiving still remains: Celebrate the harvest and other blessings of the past year.
Even when times are hard, it’s important to remember that there is always something to be thankful for.
Even when times are hard, it’s important to remember that there is always something to be thankful for. Whether it’s something big like the love of your family, or something small - like finding a new favourite song, or beating your brother’s high score on Angry Birds...
In the spirit of the holiday, we asked some of our team what THEY were feeling most thankful for this year. Here’s what they said:
Nick Cowling, Paid Media Director
"I'm thankful to have been able to get married in a year where weddings have been banned for the majority of it."
Jenny Edwards, Project Director
"I’m incredibly thankful for the extra time I've had with my young son in lockdown. No matter how many times he shouted his toilet-related needs in the background of my calls."
Cara-Jan Craig, Senior Project Manager
"I'm thankful to live with two of my closest friends who I've grown so much closer to in this time."
Yvonne Dickson, Senior Project Manager
"I'm thankful to have the opportunity and the space to work from home comfortably and for an extended period. I really feel for the people who haven't been able to do so this year."
Jordan Bradley, SEO Manager
"I'm thankful that I'm living with my best friend in what I know is a lonely, isolating time for many. We all need to check-in with each other to help each other get through this difficult period!"
