Despite the lockdown, Three Whiskey's US-base has seen an influx of new recruits in recent months.
We caught up with one of them, Paid Media Analyst Georgia Dyson, to find out her experience of the application process and how she's been finding her first few weeks.
Hi! Before we get started, who are you and what's your role here at Three Whiskey?
This new role is a real learning experience for me and I love how supportive Three Whiskey has been of that
My name’s Georgia and I’m a Paid Media Analyst, which means I’m involved with the Paid Media campaigns for our clients, helping to optimize channel strategy and analyzing insights.
This is actually my first Paid Media role. Before this, I was an Account Manager, so this new role is a real learning experience for me and I love how supportive Three Whiskey has been of that.
What made you decide to apply to Three Whiskey?
I’d been interested in Paid Media and was looking for a role where I could have more structure, with a direct Manager to report to. I wanted a company who would be interested in my own growth and provide the training to make that possible.
I was also drawn to Three Whiskey’s company culture. That combination of structure, great training and a fun and interactive team culture stood out to me and is something that I have found rare in agency life!
How did you find the recruitment process?
I was impressed at how rigorous the process was. First of all, there was a sit down with my Manager, then a presentation and, finally, a meeting with Ben, our US CEO.
It took a lot of preparation, but showed me that Three Whiskey are really committed to getting the best!
Was the role what you expected?
Meeting the CEO in the interview process was unexpected. It stood out to me because it showed how important the top of the company sees new hires
Yes, although one thing I was pleasantly surprised by was the amount of collaboration there is, especially with the UK team. We have regular meetings and it’s useful for seeing where everyone’s at and keeping in touch.
What’s something that stood out to you about Three Whiskey?
Meeting the CEO in the interview process was unexpected. It stood out to me because it showed how important the top of the company sees new hires. I was also impressed by the weekly company meetings and how well organised they are.
How would you like to see your role develop?
I think, as I grow into the role, it will become more defined with clear action points. I feel like this is a process and I’ve been overwhelmed with the amount of support I’ve received so far, from team meetings and offers of help. It’s been great.
How have you found starting a new job during lockdown?
This was something that we talked about in the interview, but I’ve found it surprisingly easy. Stepping outside my comfort zone and reaching out to people has helped me to feel more connected, and it means we've been able to talk as peers rather than just co-workers. I’m also a fan of our virtual Happy Hour every Friday!
Lastly, what’s a random fact about you that the world should know?
Stepping outside my comfort zone and reaching out to people has helped me to feel more connected
I lived in Italy for 6 months on a summer job but had to leave when I broke my foot, climbing a hill! I love Europe and can't wait to travel back there soon.
