As a prospective candidate or new starter, there are three things you should know about Three Whiskey.
They will transform your marketing career – whether you are a writer (like me), a project manager, an SEO specialist, or a client manager. You might think you know it all. Three Whiskey will show you more; then they’ll help you to fly.
As a freelancer of eight years and working out in the wilderness for most of that time, I felt I had reached a crossroads in work and life. At my initial Three Whiskey interview, I met an effervescent bunch of forward-thinking, highly motivated people. I soon learned my Creative Team home wasn’t the exception.
From the moment I joined the company, there were inductions, presentations, and available resources. Invaluable know-how and wisdom are apparent across the entire marketing sphere
Further to enrolment, this early experience soon became familiar. I began to notice it in every sector of the business - inspiring, to say the least. From the moment I joined the company, there were inductions, presentations, and available resources. Invaluable know-how and wisdom are apparent across the entire marketing sphere – from branding to paid media.
My background is writing for TV, film, and crafting feature copy – with a pinch of marketing and presenting here and there. I was nervous about joining such an accomplished, high-end agency. Was I out of my depth? Was I about to drown? There is a science to marketing, and I was familiar with its purpose yet acutely aware of areas for development. I need not have worried. Three Whiskey carefully and consciously granted me robust schooling – offering me the tools to get started and get on. It happened seamlessly, and the primary processes I use day to day are now the roots of my thinking.
In short, everything I have picked up during the first few months has stuck in profound and, importantly, increasingly useful ways. The expertise and insights of others have meant I learned more in recent months inside the agency than I might have over several years in the freelance world.
Here’s one we mustn’t forget - there’s the fun stuff. Three Whiskey is big on morale and knows how to keep it up.
Early on in lockdown, the Social Committee identified how most of us felt about connection. Or the lack of it. We’ve enjoyed an organised menu of treats to keep everyone sustained – from London to Dallas; we're all involved.
The social club thoughtfully considered how to cultivate a sense of support around working hours. These small but significant collective events have built on our community – every session more creative than the last.

These small but significant collective events have built on our community – every session more creative than the last. There was the origami challenge, where individuals made paper birds for charity, coming together to produce over 1000 cranes.
Then came initiatives highlighting Martin Luther King and International Women’s Day - podcasts and reading list suggestions were shared with us, amplifying the voices, stories, and experiences of strangers around the globe. Pizza night and pancake day must also get a mention – where we were all gifted expenses to cover costs of ingredients as an incentive for our culinary efforts. And, of course, there were virtual festive knees-ups and Secret Santa. All these festivities we could do at home – separately but together.
Three Whiskey is a relatively small but well-formed and progressive agency. Progressive is a word of real value. In Three Whiskey’s case, it is a cornerstone of how the business is continually, fluidly shaped by the people who run it.
The company is growing rapidly, and the management team is investing in people – by which I mean they consider and consult their staff on some of the big decisions, such as how to architect the benefits package in a satisfying way to everybody who works here. As members, we are all trusted for who we are and respected for the skillset each of us brings. People are Three Whiskey’s stock. We feel our worth here. Working solo for many years, this is something I can never appreciate enough.

The agency is professional but fun. They know their industry, and they understand the customer’s needs yet remain curious. And that is the thing I will shout about the loudest. A company that truly strives for greatness will always aim to be better. Three Whiskey supports their people, and consequently, will always hear you. You are encouraged to get the best out of yourself, are given recognition where you deserve it, and help when you need it.
The most practical advice I can offer any new joiner is to make yourself spongelike. Mop up every ounce of experience oozing from the smart people around you – because there’s tons of it!
