If you had a day off from work and could be a tourist for the day, what 3 things would you do in Dallas?
Morning: The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza.
Chronicling the assassination of America’s 35th President on November 22, 1963. Fascinating regardless which side of the JFK assassination debate you’re on.
Lunch: Texas Barbecue
Texas-style barbecue involves slow smoking brisket over hickory, pecan or mesquite wood at low heat. Deliciously different to the pork found in Carolina or Memphis style barbecue.
Afternoon: Southfork Ranch.
Duncan Acres is the real 200-acre former horse ranch that was the fictional home to the Ewing family in TV’s Dallas. At just under 6,000 square feet, the Ewing “Mansion” wasn’t that big. In Texas terms, neither is a 200-acre ranch.
