James joined Three Whiskey after working in consumer research for six years; helping direct clients’ brand and marketing strategies through custom research and data analysis. He now leads on the development of new research approaches at Three Whiskey, ensuring we have a deep understanding of our clients’ industries, audiences and customer needs.

James likes working in collaborative and open teams, where everyone feels comfortable to put forward new ideas. He’s motivated by the drive to uncover the insights that will drive a marketing strategy forward or transform a business approach.

One of James’s career highlights so far was presenting research insights to the CMO of Man City Football club at the Etihad Stadium. James worked on a project for the club which included analysing the impact of Man City’s women’s team on their broader brand identity, and segmenting fans to unlock new opportunities in China.

In his spare time, James likes building single speed bikes. He even did a charity cycle ride to Paris with two friends on bikes they’d made themselves. James used to play national league basketball before an injury took him out of the game – but he recently tried playing again for the first time, so a triumphant comeback may be on the cards.
